
HP Pelzer Acquires Mexican Plant from Carcoustics
HP Pelzer Group, a worldwide operating specialist for vehicle acoustics and car trim materials, acquires from Carcoustics Group the
manufacturing plant of CarMex, located in Pachuca, Mexico. This plant produced textile automotive components worth 47 million dollars in 2008.
It provides parts mainly for customers like Volkswagen and Nissan. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed from both companies.
With the acquisition HP Pelzer strengthens its product and customer portfolio in Mexico. HP Pelzer Group plans to rename CarMex as HPP Systems de Mexico,
S.A. de C.V. and develop into a regional hub within its NAFTA integration strategy. Volkswagen Group as CarMex´ biggest customer has actively pursued the
owner change of the plant. This acquisition is a move towards an expected sector consolidation that will enable both suppliers to put a stronger focus on
their respective core competencies.
